The March 30 episode of MBC’s “Section TV” revealed some of the behind-the-scenes of casting for the drama “Empress Ki.” According to the broadcast, Ji Chang Wook’s role of Ta Hwan might have gone to fellow actor Jang Geun Suk. The production team really tried to recruit Jang Geun Suk for the role, but he had another drama in mind, and as “Empress Ki” is a longer drama, it didn’t fit with Jang Geun Suk’s international schedule.
Moreover, it was revealed that Baek Jin Hee’s role for Tanashiri first went to actress Kim Min Jung, and when that failed, Baek Jin Hee was cast just one week before filming started for the drama.
Soompiers, what do you think? Do you think Jang Geun Suk would’ve been better as Ta Hwan? or Kim Min Jung as Tanashiri?
