Last month, Jo Sung Mo made Koreans laugh with nostalgia when he parodied his sickly sweet commercial for “SNL Korea.” Now, actor Lee Jun Ki opened up about his thoughts on his very own sickly sweet commercial from the past.
In a press conference for his upcoming drama, “The Joseon Shooter,” Lee Jun Ki was asked about the reference that was made to his infamous juice commercial during one of “SNL Korea’s” parody videos. He answered, I was good to remember that old commercial. I think it’s great that the parody made people talk about it again.”
The actor also talked about his love-hate relationship with that particular commercial. “It was a commercial that had an affect on men and women of all ages, but back then I hated that commercial. Other guys didn’t react well to it and I thought it would have a negative effect on my career. That commercial was so strong that it restricted me from getting other commercial deals. Now I have a love-hate relationship with it. I hate it, but I’m also thankful for it.”
When asked if he would do the commercial again, like Jo Sung Mo did for “SNL Korea,” Lee Jun Ki confessed that he would be hesitant about it if it was offered.
