How are these different from the itineraries you’ve written before?
The simplest answer: my previous itineraries all took a single path through the city and town. Routes were carefully designed to keep your stops close to each other, while highlighting some excellent places. The books in this series feature more places, more choices, and give you the reader more control.
What devices will these guides work on?
The Amazon version will work on any Kindle device or app, from the very first Kindle 1 to the top of the line device available today. Guides use Kindle’s flexible layout, meaning you’ll have your choice of fonts and font sizes, as determined by your device.
The PDF version will work on any device where you can read PDF files – computers, tablets, smartphones, and so on.
What factors do you use to select the choices that are available?
To name a few:
- The best time to visit – some places are best seen in the morning or evening, for example, while others are only open for evenings or weekends.
- The weather – you probably don’t want to be walking long distances in the heat or cold! For the Bangkok guide, every single afternoon destination is in an air-conditioned building or has plenty of shaded spots to take a break under.
- Whether a place is safe for kids or not. Only a small fraction aren’t kid-friendly, and these are clearly marked on the choice. There’s always a option for a kid-friendly place at every junction.
- Whether your next place is nearby – some are, some aren’t. You’ve given hints to help you make your choice, though!
