Eric’s Tears from “Discovery of Love” Moves Viewers

Warning: Mild Spoilers Ahead

During episode nine of “Discovery of Love,” Kang Tae Ha (portrayed by Eric) actually discovered the true meaning of love.

On his way back from the lumber mill with Han Yeo Reum (portrayed by Jung Yoo Mi), he passes a fishing pond where he used to go with Yeo Reum’s father. He remembers her father saying to him, “There aren’t any girls like Yeo Reum nowadays. Please just always lose to her no matter what.” Tae Ha soon realizes that that was Yeo Reum’s father’s last words before he passed away.

At the same time, Yeo Reum begins to get sensitive and starts to sweat. Tae Ha soon figures that her father’s death was a suicide. Tae Ha finally recognizes Yeo Reum’s wounds, and he also realizes that he wasn’t there for her when she needed him the most. Yeo Reum eventually passes out in the car, and Tae Hae immediately takes her to the hospital.

At her bedside, Tae Ha starts to tear up in guilt and regret. He says, “I should have asked her what was wrong. I don’t even know how I could have told her I love her so easily. I’m a person who shouldn’t be able to say ‘I love you’ anymore.” He finally started to cry out of realization that love without hurt isn’t true love. His minute of tears became the best climax of the episode.

Meanwhile, “Discovery of Love” is another drama that reunites an old couple—Jung Yoo Mi and Eric, who have worked together in a past drama before. It airs every Monday and Tuesday on KBS. Anyone a fan of this drama?
