Talent agency SM Entertainment has collected a total of eight prizes from the Red Dot Design Awards in recognition of the company’s album and mini album art. The SM winners were EXO’s “XOXO (Growl Repackage)” and “MAMA,” SHINee’s “Sherlock” and “The Misconceptions of You/Me/Us,” Super Junior’s “Mr Simple,” Girls’ Generation’s “The Boys” and f(x)’s “Electric Shock” and “Pink Tape,” which were all recognized in the “Communication Design” category.
Founded in 1955 in Essen, Germany the awards has a committee that considers over 11,000 design submissions from over 60 countries. Winning entries are displayed at branches of the Red Dot Design Museum in Germany and Singapore.
The new international awards haul follows previous Girls Generation and EXO artwork design victories received earlier this year. Albums by the two acts were recognized by Germany’s iF Design Awards 2014, who handed out two prizes each for the groups, under the “Album Packaging Design” and “Brand Identity” categories.
