It’s almost here!
New details of Taeyang‘s long-awaited new album has been released through YG Entertainment‘s blog, yg-life.com. Along with a new image of Taeyang and a tracklist of the album, Yang Hyun Suk has also left a letter that outlines the details of Taeyang’s new album.
Titled “Rise,” the new album is a studio album with a total of nine tracks. This will be Taeyang’s first studio album in four years after his 201o’s “Solar.” Taeyang contributed numerously to this new album as a composer and lyricist. He is co-author to the title track “Eyes, Nose, Lips” (direct translation), along with YG Entertainment’s resident producer Teddy. The song is composed by Teddy, DEE.P, and Rebecca Johnson.
In contrast to other YG artists who have promoted two to three title tracks, Taeyang is only listing one. “Eyes, Nose, Lips” was chosen as the lone title track, even though all the other songs on the album were once mentioned as title tracks at one time or another. Yang Hyun Suk explains this is to signify that Taeyang will focus hard on the early stages of promotions. Additionally, while “Eyes, Nose, Lips” was the last song to be added to the album, as soon as Taeyang sang the first verse of the song, all past plans came tumbling down.
After listening to the song, Yang Hyun Suk had an idea for the music video and suggested it to Taeyang, a first since his suggestion for the music video of “Break Away” from then YG artist Big Mama.
“Eyes, Nose, Lips” will be different from previous Taeyang title tracks, stripped away of a focus on dance performance. Instead, the slow R&B song will highlight Taeyang’s deep emotional vocals, as Yang Hyun Suk describes it.
Although there is only one title song, fans can expect three music videos; one for “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” one for “1AM,” and one for “Body” which will be the follow up song to the title track.
The music video for “Eyes, Nose, Lips” will be released on June 2, 12:00 AM, along with the album’s digital release. The music video for “1AM” will be released on June 10, 1:00 AM in conjunction with the album’s physical release. The music video for “Body” is expected to be released mid-June, directed by Seo Hyun Seung.
In the P.S., Yang Hyun Suk announced he will be releasing news about PSY and YG’s rookie group, “Winner,” soon.
Can’t wait for Taeyang’s new album!
