SM Rookie Girl Group Red Velvet Drops New Group Teaser

And the teasers for new SM girl group Red Velvet continue! SM Entertainment has released another full group teaser for Red Velvet, already having garnered a ton of interest upon the announcement of the group’s debut. 


The group consists of four girls from the pre-debut team SMRookies: Seulgi, Irene, Wendy, and Joy.

Irene (23) was cast by SM in 2009, and is a talented singer, rapper, and modern dancer. Irene appeared in one of Henry’s music videos, “1-4-3 (I Love You).”


Member Wendy (20) was recruited in 2012 through SM’s global audition in Canada. She is a talented vocal who previously sang for the soundtrack of the drama “Mimi.” Wendy is also instrumentally talented, able to play flute, guitar, and saxophone.


The youngest member, Joy (18), joined SM through the SM global audition in Seoul in 2012, and is a skilled singer and dancer.


Seulgi (20) was chosen through the 2007 SM public audition, and is skilled in singing and dancing, speaks Japanese, and can play guitar. She recently appeared in Henry’s “Fantastic” music video, and featured in one of the songs on Henry’s album, as well, called “Butterfly.”


These four members’ first digital single “Happiness” is set to drop online on August 4, after which they will start promotions.
