MBC’s New Weekend Drama, “Mama,” Starts Off with Good Ratings

MBC’s new weekend drama, “Mama,” is off to a good start as the first episode is first place in viewer ratings.


On August 3, the viewer rating research institute Nielsen Korea showed that the first episode of “Mama,” which aired on August 2, recorded a rating of 9.6% and placed first for its time slot.


The drama that aired before “Mama” was “Hotel King” and the last episode had a rating of 11.8%. Although the rating of “Mama” is 2.2% lower than “Hotel King,” it has a rating of around 10%, and many are anticipating this drama to gain a lot of popularity.


In the first episode, “Mama” showed the complicated relationship between a famous comic writer named Han Seung Hee, played by Song Yoon Ah, and Seo Ji Eun, played by Moon Jung Hee. Their complicated relationship involves a man named Tae Joo, played by Jung Joon Ho.


Meanwhile, among the shows that are aired at the same time as “Mama,” SBS’s “Endless Love,” had a rating of 9.4% while KBS 2TV’s “In-Depth 60 Minutes” had a rating of 4.9%.
