iKON to focus on the Chinese market right after their debut in Korea

YG Entertainment's upcoming boy group iKON will start their promotions in China after they make their domestic debut in January 2015.

CEO Yang Hyun Suk said in an interview with TV Report on October 25th,"iKON has received impressive responses not only from domestic but also overseas as well. They especially receive explosive response in China. We are planning for them to have promotions in China right after their debut in Korea"

iKON previously had their fan meeting in Beijing, China on October 11th featuring B.I, Bobby, Kim Jin Hwan and more. The event achieved a great success as it attracted more than 60,000 fans. It was said that the Beijing airport was totally in chaos as soon as the members arrived, proving their high popularity.

Yang Hyun Suk continued,"Big Bang has been actively promoting in Japan which allowed them to have a successful Dome tour with 800,000 fans. This is a great result. If Big Bang targeted Japan then it will be China for iKON. Through the last fan meeting, we confirmed that they already had their local fanbase"

Regarding the question about whether it will be possible for iKON to have both Korean and China debut since there's only 2 months of prepation left, the CEO replied,"iKON's leader B.I has already been working on a lot of songs so it's possible for the debut album to be released early next year. So far there has been no YG artist that has promoted in China properly but for iKON we will let them actively promote in the China market. iKON members have been studying Japanese along with Winner so then can communicate well. Until their debut they will be studying Chinese so that their promotions can proceed smoothly"
