[NEWS] Doctor Who world tour to include Korea

Doctor Who fans anyone? If you are a fan, you may have heard that a world tour has been scheduled in August.

Promoting the forthcoming eighth series, due to premiere in the UK next month, Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi and on-screen companion Jenna Coleman will not only visit the UK but also travel to South Korea, Australia, USA, Mexico and Brazil.


Lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat won’t be able to attend this world tour due to production commitments but global fans will be able to meet the doctor and his companion instead.


Starting the world tour on home soil on August 7, the UK stops will be Cardiff and London before the cast head to Seoul, Sydney, New York, Mexico City and finishing in Rio de Janeiro on August 19.


Fans based in Korea managed to tickets to a sold out fan event where the first new episode of Doctor Who series 8 will be shown. This event is due to take place on August 9 at the Grand Ballroom, 63 Building in Seoul.


If the devotion to Doctor Who in Korea wasn’t enough, the TARDIS prop had recently making the rounds in Seoul as part of preparation for the world tour, where eager fans queued in line to take a photo alongside it. You can find some photos retweeted on the Korean Doctor Who Twitter account.


More information on the other locations and schedules will be posted on Doctor Who TV here. It’s very likely that video footage or photos from fan events or interviews will also be uploaded there.
