The Philippines is set to air its own version of 2011 Korean drama '49 Days.'
ABS-CBN entitled it as 'Pure Love' because the Philippines doesn't have a '49 days' belief. However, they have this called '40 days' after someone dies. Filipinos believe that the spirit of the dead doesn't go until its 40th.
The story of 'Pure Love' will revolve on the jolly bride-to-be Diane (Alex Gonzaga), who will meet an accident because of Ysabel (Yen Santos) who is a depressed lady who wants to commit suicide. Diane will be in coma. During her state of coma, she will meet the 'Scheduler' (Matt Evans). He will told her that she will still live if she fulfills her mission first. Diane will need to gather three teardrops shed out of pure love by three people within the next 40 days after her accident. Diane will possess the body of Ysabel to complete her task.
The original '49 Days' was aired on ABS-CBN in 2011. 'Pure Love' is top-billed by Alex Gonzaga (as Diane), Yen Santos (as Isabelle), Matt Evans (as Scheduler), Yam Concepcion, Arjo Atayde and Joseph Marco. It will be aired on July 7th.
